Institute Mobile Veterinary Services is looking for an associate veterinarian to replace a current veterinarian in a 2 doctor practice. We are located in rural eastern North Carolina about halfway between Raleigh and the coast. We have an in house clinic that provides facilities for hospitalization of non surgical colics, injuries, and AI for various breeds of mares. We provide on site routine care and farm call services. There is a good amount of driving in this position, but we have amazing clients who want the best medicine that they can afford. We have digital radiology, ultrasound, in house chemistry, and hand and power dentistry equipment. Associate will be provided with a practice vehicle (2013 Silverado 1500 with a bowie box) and all needed equipment. There is plenty of room for an associate to keep 1-2 horses on site. Riding is allowed during work day if there are no appointments. Approximately 70% of the work is equine. We also provide services for cattle, sheep, goats, and some small animal needs. There is a once monthly small animal wellness clinic that is alternated between the veterinarians on staff. The position is available Sep 1 and a North Carolina license is needed. Emergency duty is split 50/50. This is a lower stress job than most equine positions, but an ideal applicant is a self motivated conscientious worker. Confident new graduates are encouraged to apply. Salary is commensurate with experience and applicants who bring new skills to our practice will be compensated accordingly. Part time considered if applicant is willing to split emergency duty.
Applicant must be comfortable around horses, livestock , and small animals. Should be willing to work outside in any weather as needed. Also must be available for 50% of emergency duty and be willing to live within 10-15 miles of the clinic. Should not have physical limitations precluding ability to handle large unruly animals. Employee must have or be able to get NC license and accreditation.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience and any new skills that an employee can bring to the practice. A generous benefits package includes insurance, dues, and CE allowances in addition to vacation, CE, and sick days. Practice vehicle is provided.
