Our team is devoted to continuing the excellent standards upon which we were founded and are looking for strong team players to join us as we grow.
We are seeking energetic, reliable and professional Veterinary Technicians. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up appointment rooms, assisting the Veterinarian during surgical procedures and cleaning, sterilizing and storing the surgical instruments when the procedure is over. They may perform an initial evaluation of the animal's condition, clean and wrap wounds, check vital statistics, collect and preserve laboratory samples, some of which may be shipped offsite for more comprehensive testing. They will also administer medication, perform basic lab work, including urinalysis and blood tests, and may assist with procedures such as teeth cleaning. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, performing ultrasound examinations based on the instructions and under the guidance of the attending Veterinarian. The successful candidate will also help during patient examinations and surgical procedures by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Veterinary technicians also communicate with pet owners and update patient files. Our Veterinary technicians must be available to work Saturdays on a rotating schedule.
Veterinary technicians must have excellent communication skills, so that they may interact with pet owners and coworkers. The successful candidate must have an understanding of animal behavior and strong clinical skills in order to properly evaluate an animal's condition and provide treatment with the Veterinarian. They must be detail-oriented and well-organized so that they may take medical histories, carry out instructions, document patient statistics and update records. It's also essential that they enjoy working with animals and have the ability to comfort, handle and restrain large and small pets.
