Want to work and live in the middle of history, fantastic waterways, including ocean beaches, and a two hour drive to the mountains, and be involved in transforming an established, successful 24-hour emergency clinic into a state of the art Critical Care Referral Center?
Peninsula Animal Referral Center, located in historic Yorktown Virginia, is currently seeking to add a Boarded or Board eligible Criticalist to its roster of specialists. As a full service 24-hour Emergency and Referral Center, we have boarded Surgeons, an Ophthalmologist, a Dermatologist, and a Cardiologist, and access to a boarded internal medicine specialist.
The position would require the candidate to be responsible for intake of cases during the day hours of 8am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday currently, with the anticipation of adding a primary emergency clinician during those hours in the future. The candidate will also be responsible for all hospitalized and critical care cases during that time period and supervision and availability for consult on critical care cases at all times. In addition, the candidate would be involved in training the LVT staff in advanced critical care procedures, supervising clinical treatment and diagnostic guidelines for hospitalized cases, and coordinating and establishing critical care treatment protocols with the Medical Director and other emergency clinicians. PEVC is a fully equipped modern facility that has, in addition to access to the above specialist, full Idexx in-house diagnostic capabilities, I-stat, digital x-rays, ultrasound, and designated isolation and ICU areas. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to guide this well run 24-hour Emergency Clinic into its new era. Salary negotiable.
