Overview: The SPCA Holding Center seeks a motivated, detail-oriented, team player with excellent verbal skills. Candidate must have a strong commitment to animal welfare and humane animal sheltering. Qualified candidate will have an exceptional work ethic and be extremely reliable.
The Foster Coordinator will be responsible for sending qualifying animals into foster care homes. The Foster Coordinator will work closely with the Holding Center Manager and medical team to identify animals needing foster care, then work with a team of foster volunteers to move the animals into appropriate foster homes. Time management skills and excellent organizational abilities are a necessity. Professional animal care experience and animal medical experience is preferred. The Foster Coordinator will also assist staff in other areas as needed, which includes medical treatment, customer service and animal intake. Candidates must be friendly, professional, and flexible, must be able to work independently without a lot of supervision. Must love animals and really enjoy working with a diverse group of people! Must also be comfortable working in all weather conditions and handling animals who may not be fully vaccinated.
Details: Excellent customer service skills are essential. Professional animal handling experience is preferred. High school diploma required. Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Currently accepting applications for full time (40 hours/week). Work hours currently needed are: Weekday and Weekend hours, 9am -6pm. Some full weekends and holidays are necessary. On-Call hours are required. Schedule may change according to organization’s needs. Having a flexible schedule is required.
