SoBran is seeking a Program Manager to provide contract management and operational oversight for multiple contracts within SoBran's BioScience Division.
OVERVIEW: Responsibilities of this position are that of a Program Manager for the NIH, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). These responsibilities include all activities required for the proper care and maintenance of on-site animals.
Description of Duties:
Serve as liaison between Animal Care Contract and the NIAID Project Officer(s)
Ensure that contract requirements are met, including proper staffing and AALAS certification requirements
Facilitate all activities concerning Contract personnel and Program Management
Develop and maintain relationships with representatives of government, Investigators and contract personnel in order to coordinate activities and conduct investigations in matters concerning quality and client complaints
Supervise Facility Managers, Administrative Managers, Training Manager, Human Resources Specialist, QA / QC Technician and the Deputy Program Managers, and assist in preparation of their annual performance appraisals
Monitors schedules to ensure that program deadlines / deliverables are met
Ensures safety, security, and physical environment of facilities are compliant
Maintains project specific QA plans and procedures
Monitors and reviews QA/QC activities for the program
Provides oversight and reviews animal care and husbandry and other technical support
Assist in personnel matters in collaboration with supervisory staff to include, but not limited to disciplinary issues
Participate in interviews and selection of all key personnel
Assist in communication with NIAID investigators
Always think safety first when performing daily duties
Perform other duties, as assigned
5 years experience in a laboratory animal facility, 6 years of which are in a supervisory position
Must have experience in managing animal facilities, including barrier management, hazard containment, and data management
Must complete the required training and receive clearance on the duties of the Program Manager as outlined
Ability to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
Ability to remain in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
Ability to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
Use hands and wrists for repetitive tasks frequently, such as typing, mouse movement and filing
Wear appropriate clothing and/or PPE as defined by standard operating procedure (SOP), animal study proposal (ASP), and the Safety Department to enter animal facilities as needed
Required Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; and be certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG)
