Job Summary: Lead and direct Community Medicine program to provide basic veterinary care and services to members of the community. Work in support of wide variety of HRA programs including our collaboration with the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Direct reports include: Veterinary Technician Manager and Client Services Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities: •Oversee operations in the HRA Medical Center. •Maximize revenues through low-cost, high volume services and grant funding of Community Medicine program.
Qualifications and Requirements: •Demonstrated knowledge and proven ability in veterinary practice management in private practice or community medicine. •Knowledge of medical center procedures including veterinary and shelter medicine as outlined in standard operating procedures.
Education and Experience: •College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. •Formal training as a veterinary technician and/or certification as veterinary technician are highly desirable •Minimum 5 years of experience and a history of increasing responsibility as a veterinary technician and/or practice manager, preferably in a high volume shelter and/or community medicine environment. •Experience must include managing veterinary support staff and/or veterinary technicians.
